Code of Conduct for Learners
The Glass and Glazing Institute NZ (GGINZ) is committed to providing a respectful, supportive, and productive learning environment for all adult learners. By attending a course at GGINZ, learners agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

Treat all tutors, fellow learners, and GGINZ staff with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.
Respect the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions of others.
Engage in constructive and positive communication.

Arrive on time for all training sessions.
Notify GGINZ in advance if unable to attend or if running late.
Be committed to completing all required course hours. Excessive absenteeism may affect your progress.

Actively participate in all course activities, both theoretical and practical.
Contribute to group discussions and exercises.
Be open to feedback and willing to support fellow learners.

Follow all safety protocols and guidelines in the training environment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Immediately report any accidents, hazards, or safety concerns to a tutor or staff member.

Maintain a professional attitude and work ethic throughout the course.
Refrain from engaging in any form of disruptive behaviour, including inappropriate language, bullying, or harassment.
Use your mobile phone to take photos and upload evidence to your Canvas app as required. Work calls can be taken outside of the workshop, but do not use your phone for any other purposes unless required for learning.

Respect the confidentiality of GGINZ and fellow learners.
Ensure all work is your own, and avoid copying in assessments and assignments.
Take responsibility for your own learning and progress.

Manage your time effectively to complete all course requirements.
Submit assignments and tasks on time.
Seek support or clarification from tutors when needed.

Treat all GGINZ property, tools, and equipment with care and respect.
Report any damaged or faulty equipment to the tutor immediately.

The use of alcohol, drugs, or other substances that impair judgment or behaviour is strictly prohibited during training.
Learners found to be under the influence during training may be asked to leave and face further disciplinary action.

Breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the course, depending on the severity of the violation.
By attending a course at GGINZ, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. We aim to create a positive and effective learning environment, and your cooperation is essential for its success.
